About
YPolo is a volunteer-run organization that began as a group of Masters aged, former water polo players who wanted to continue their love of the sport in Idaho. It was started by Jim Everett and Steve Koga shortly after the first Olympic-sized swimming pool opened in Boise.
In 2007 the club embarked on an aggressive effort to spread the sport to players of all ages and abilities. The club will be sponsoring many clinics, camps and events to give kids of all ages the chance to try the sport and see how enjoyable water polo is. Please check our events section of the site to see what’s going on!. Leagues will be broken down in teams based upon gender and age and will involve 1 practice during the week and one scrimmage on the weekend in the spring.
YPolo Boise is open to all players and it does not require a full time Treasure Valley YMCA membership. YPolo relies on the generosity of its members donations of time and money. All fees and donations go back into the club. Our club has a wealth of experience, a passion for the sport and an eye on fun. Come and join us or contact us with any questions you might have.
The club currently fields a Poly Wog team (6-12 years old), a Strikers team (13-18 years old), and a Master’s team.
